Inspirations

Hi! Here are 5 imagesthat inspire me. There are lots of images that mean a lot to me, but I chose these ones because I think it defines me more and defines what direction I go when I illustrate.

1.) Frank Frazetta
I think Frazetta's paintings show a lot of tension and conflict with a unique style. I like the dark tones and the composition. It is also a great resource when studying anatomy since the muscles and structures on the characters are emphasized.

2.) Japan by Stephane Belin
I also have an interest in digital arts such as digital painting, vector art, and computer animation. This painting portrays great mood and composition with the use of colours and simple brushes. The distant light from the city contrasts the mood in the foreground. I also like how the strokes from a digital medium (photoshop maybe?) added great texture to this image such as rain effects and building materials.

3.) Pascal Campion
Another artist I like because of composition, colour, and mood. I like this particular image because I find it relaxing. Sitting around with an instrument is a great way to come up with ideas! The room is dim with only the moonlight shining through the windows. It gives a sense of minimal distractions in the room.

4.) Miniature Tokyo
I applied this focus effect to one of my vacation photos a few years back by blurring and contrast to create a depth effect. I learned about a filming technique that has a special focus lense which makes a landscape look miniature. I thought, "Why not add a twist to some vacation scenery that people have already seen?". Surreal effects in photos also intrigues me, it makes it much more interesting.

5.) Music
One of the most important tools I use for creativity is music. With music, it sets the mood in which I can come up with something. I don't really know how to explain it, but it really helps when coming up with ideas.
